This week, we are researching what soil is and how it is made.

Having consolidated our knowledge of the place value in 2- and 3-digit numbers, Year 3 are now moving towards being able to select the most efficient method for addition. To begin, we are investigating expanded column addition, and started by using dienes to understand what it looks like to exchange from one column to the

Year 3 have been researching how fossils are made. To help us understand the process, we created our own fossils before explaining how they are formed using a storyboard. The children were very excited to become palaeontologists when they excavated their “fossil”, explaining that fossils can help us to learn about the past.

Year 5 and 6 have been exploring the links between Talk, Listening and Thinking during Time to Talk lessons. We are trying to create ‘Thinking Environments, where people think freely and deeply, without fear of interruption and where independent thinking can flourish!

Year 6 headed to Shadwell Fire Station for an afternoon with the Met Police, London Ambulance Service, TfL, London Fire Brigade and other important services. They really enjoyed themselves and left with lots of advice on how to keep themselves and the people around them safe.

Inspired by the structures of artist Tony Cragg, we first sorted objects into groups according to their colours before selecting an object to draw.
